Firefox Add Ons

There are some cool add ons for firefox. I added a theme that changes the whole firefox look instead of just what the persona changed. I also added the color tabs. It changes the color of the tabs.

BibMe!

BibMe is a tool you can use to look at reviews, what a book is about, and where you can get it. It is very helpful for writing papers and stuff.

BlogThis!

BlogThis is tool that anyone can use to post things on your blog.  It is a tool that anyone can load, and the purpose of blogthis is so that you can be on another webpage and you click on the blogthis toolbar, and it pops up a screen that gives a link to the page and it puts it on your blog.

Favicon

Favicon is a website that allows someone to personalize the icon next to the URL. Also you can make your own or find a picture off the internet. Some icons are animated. They have a lot of icons to choose from.

Domain

GoDaddy.com is a place where someone can create a domain name. A domain is good if someone wants to make it easy for other people to get to their blog or website.  Someone can use .com .net .bis or .org to create a domain. GoDaddy is great to use if someone has already used the name it will give you available options.

Firefox Personas

Personas is a great way to personalize a Firefox toolbar. There is many themes to choose from. Also there are animated, holiday, and other special themes to choose from. Personas can be found for any personality. Unfortunately personas can only be used on Firefox and not on any other web browser.

Google Reader

I explored google reader. It is cool because you can download it so you can view it from your email. It also has where you can download so on your bar is shows how many blogs you haven't read that you are following,

Google Products

We used many different google products. Some that we used were books, product search, translate, and web search features. Books would be cool if they have the full book you can download so you don't have to go to the store and buy then have it laying around the house. Translate was fun because i learned how to say other things in spanish. product search could be very nice when you're looking for something specific.

      

Histats

Histats would be cool if you were working for a company and ever time someone viewed your site you got money. It tells you how many people have viewed your site on what days, where they are from, and a lot more. You can design your own counter.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is a way to easily organize your bookmarks and you can access them from any computer. You can add tags so it is easier for you and other people to find. To create and account you register on a social bookmarking website. With any bookmarking website it saves your bookmarks on your computer and on the site that you are logged into. Some websites to use are symbaloo.com, delicious.com and diigo.com

What Is Social Bookmarking?

Social bookmarking is a way for someone to organize, store, manage, and search for bookmarking resources online. You can add descripitions and tags so it is easier for you to find your bookmarks. My favorite bookmarking site is Symbaloo because it's te easiest one for me to get around on and understand.

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is pretty cool, for me it's easy to understand because all your sites are right in front of you and they're just pictures. Because I would rather see things and since i already know most of the symbols for the sites i normally use it is fairly easy for me to justlook at the picture and click it instead of scrolling down a long page looking for the site I want.

Delicious is AWESOME! Anywhere you go you can have all your bookmarks. It doesn't just save them on your computer but also on this bookmarking site! You can share these websites with other people as well.

Buddymarks is a social bookmarking site that lets you import your existing bookmarks that are currently on your computer as well as add new ones as you expand your bookmarks. You can also tag them, add descriptions and probably access them from other computers although I am not for sure.

Second Life

Second life seems really cool, i haven't been able to spend much time on it because you do have to download it to play but you can change your clothes and chat with other people.

Diigo

Diigo is another of my favorites. It lets you highlight certain parts of the page you are on and saves that and the page title to your diigo page. It would be very useful if you are doing research papers with a partner and are working at home and aren't able to work together. I can think of many ways I could use diigo away from school.

Wordle

 

Wordle is very cool, you can make collage like things with words and you can change the color, font and a lot of stuff to make the wordle to look more like you want it to. There are also a lot of other sites you can use including tagul, textorizer, tocloud and many more.

MEEZ Room

You can create meez rooms where people can come in and chat with you which is really cool. You can also dance or sit.

MEEZ

MEEZ is really fun. You can animate your meez and have different backgrounds and pick out many different outfits, and also play games to get more points sbut to get some items you have to have coins and you can't always have the items you want because you don't have enough coins.

Avatar

Using avatars is a lot of fun, you can make them look as much like you as you want or not. It's also very useful for people who like to use them for business.

How I Currently Use Social Media

I use facebook a lot to talk to old friends from Solomon and other people. I also use it to post pictures from my phone so i can delete them off my phone. Another site I use is picnik to edit my pictures. I have a hotmail and yahoo account.
